We Miss You Daddy!

Seeing as we all miss Rassie while he's gone to works 14 days at a time, I've decided to start a scrapbook of some sort. Nothing fancy. Just a book where we can put pictures and artwork and little things we do while he's not here. I want to do it as a way to include him. Even though he missed out, we were still thinking about him. So tomorrow I think we might make a trip to hobby lobby and wal-mart to see what we can find.

On another note, it's raining again. Not near as much as last week but definitely rain. My yard really needs to mowed. The bushes need to be hedged. The weeds pulled. And much more! I am really hoping to get to that in these next few weeks Rassie is off. I can't do much with him gone having two babies at home. I love working in the yard though and can't wait!

I also hope we get the garage cleaned out. It got a bit messy for a while but I want it cleaned back up. I wish we had more shelves out there for all Rassie's stuff but it should be ok if we organize. Then I'm going to bleach the floor (concrete) and spray it out so it's nice and clean. With the cooler weather we'll be able to get back out there to our 'game room'. Rassie has a pool table out there. He's really good at it. I'm lucky if I can make one ball the entire game! LOL But I'm hoping to get in some practice so maybe one day I will be able to beat my husband at a game of pool.

I am also excited for Rassie to get home because we're planning a trip to OK. He agreed we can go now we just have to work out the details. I'm calling this our mini vacation! We didn't get to take one this year and I am hoping it will be just what we need.

Well, Lane has decided nap time was over and I need to get the trash out so I guess I better get going.

Time Flies

Boy how time flies. Lane is alreayd 7 1/2 weeks old. He is my little ham and growing like a weed. He is smiling more and more with each day. Some days I get 3 or 4 smiles out of him and that just melts my heart. He is very alert when he is awake and loves to watch you while you talk to him. He also loves his big sister. He can be laying on the floor mat crying and she will sit down next to him and he just stops. Something about other kids I guess.

Scarlett is doing good. She had roseola this past week. I still am not sure that is exactly what it was but will run with it. She started out with a fever and then broke out in a rash. With roseola the fever is supposed to go away before the rash breaks out but Scarlett's happened at the same time. Her fever finally broke after a few days and the rash disappeard completely on day 5. I was so happy to see it go. She was my speckled baby. She seems to be healthy as can be now. She could use an attitude adjustment though. Boy did I get a drama queen for a little Princess. But I still love her more than words could ever explain.

It's been 2 weeks since Rassie left for work and finally he is coming home tomorrow night. I can hardly wait! Two weeks can seem like a lifetime when you're missing the one you love. I've been taking pictures of the kiddos for him almost everyday. We also talk on the phone everday. Scarlett misses her daddy! Oh, and she's learned to call him Rassie. It's so cute but at the same time I correct her and say 'daddy'.

I had my 6 week post partum appointment last Friday. Everything went well and I was cleared for take off. Unless I want the IUD Mirena and she told me to hold off until I get it put in or I will have to wait until I get my first period. After researching Mirena I am pretty sure about deciding against it. Rassie and I were talking about which route we want to take and we're both leaning towards natural family planning. It's worked for us in the past, I'm pretty sure it will work in the future.

So thats about it, in a nutshell.

It's Going.

This past week has been off and on busy. We visited my parents, gone grocery shopping, had a small family BBQ, and much more. I finally got the house looking good. The floors look awesome thanks to my steam vac skills. Now If I can just keep it all under control. The daily task of picking up toys and doing dishes is going to kill me alone!

The potty training didn't make it past day #2 last week. But after watching Scarlett's habits this past week I just don't know what to do. I know she is ready to potty train. She tells me when she needs to go, sits on the potty but won't go until you put a diaper back on. We went through 3 diapers in less than 20 mintues the other day. She woke up from nap, she was wet. She said she had to potty we set her on the toilet for a good 5 minutes and she wanted off, wasn't having it anymore. Put her nice clean diaper on her just so she could tell us she wanted to potty again. So off to the bathroom we go only to find that her fresh diaper was wet! Sits on the potty for another 5 or so minutes and she's tired of it again. So on goes a NEW diaper and not 2 minutes later she's poop. I don't think she understands exactly what the potty is for. I take her with me and she sees me go but its not registering that we actually pee and poop in the potty so we can wear big girl panties! We are going through this habit on a daily basis. In 2 weeks we're going to try the training pants again.

Rassie had his 1st day back to work today. He'll be gone for 2 weeks. I would say its going to drag out but these kids keep me so darn busy I am sure it will pass pretty quickly. I am going to miss him like crazy and Scarlett is already mad. She asked "where dada" and when I told her "at work" she went to the window and hit it yelling at him because his car wasn't in the driveway. Sad, I know.

Lane is doing good. He is awake a lot more now. I am pretty sure he has colic. I hope it passes soon. It's not a horrible case of it but enough to drive me a little batty at times. Last night we went for a walk and the neighborhood probably thought I was a mean mommy. He cried for most of the walk if he was laying in the stroller. They were probably wonder why this mommy wouldn't just pick him up! I did though. Rassie ended up pushing the stroller while I carried sweet little Lane!

I have my 6 weeks PP appointment this Friday. I'm looking forward to a full release so I can start working out a little more. I am hoping to lose about 15 pounds by Nov. 7th. Rassie's 30th birthday and my cousins wedding!

Well, Scarlett just dumped her pasta in the floor. I guess she's done with lunch and that means I better go clean it up since I didn't catch her in time.

Potty Project Day #2

First lets to a little follow up on Day #1. Scarlett had one more accident last night in her panties and then we put a diaper on her because we had somewhere to go. Not the best idea. I was hoping we would be home for the first few days but oh well. Of course as soon as we put the diaper on she decided she needed to make a stinky!

Day # 2

So far today Scarlett has not done so hot at all! She woke up with a dry diaper but daddy failed to sit her on the potty. Instead he made her a cup of milk and by the time she was yelling "pee pee" she had already gone in her diaper. I was a little upset with this. More with Rassie not putting her on the potty not with Scarlett going in her diaper.

We decided to take a different approach today and let her go naked around the house. She still has not hit the potty one time. She made it on the bathroom floor after she stood up off of her potty. And She got the dining room floor again. Here it is 10:30 and we've had our 3rd accident about 30 minutes ago. She was sitting in my lap. Grabbed herself and said "pee pee" I knew this was the real thing. I tell her "YAY" and we rush to her little potty. She cried, didn't want to sit on it. So I start singing the "pee pee in the potty" song and we rush to the big potty. I sit her on the potty only for her to cry again. But when I squat down in front of her so I'm on her level she calms down. She tries to "toot" in the potty. I thought this idea might get her to pee while trying to pass gas but it didn't work. She got upset with the potty again and since she hadn't gone I let her up to play. I don't want her to be scared of it. Well, I found a few wet drips on the carpet. I wasn't sure if it was pee or from washing her hands but I scrubbed it up. Then we're standing in the kitchen floor and she touches me with wet hands. Definitely pee because we dried her hands and I know we didn't do that bad of a job! Then she turns to take off and slips and falls in her puddle! After washing her down I decided to put a diaper on her. She seems to be ok with the fact that she needs to potty but scared to do it on the potty.

So for now, I am going to give it a few days. Then start slowly by sitting her on the potty again when I do diaper changes and when I go to the bathroom. And then in 2 weeks when daddy gets his next days off we're going to try again. I didn't think this was going to be so hard. Especially since she already tells us "pee" and "poop" and knows before she goes that she has to go. Oh boy! I'm in for a treat.

Harley's Collage!

I have been working on the collage for Harley. If there is anyone still out there that wants to send in photos from the balloon release please send them to amartin52006@hotmail.com . I will try to get some photos up of my work in progress. I just wanted to let everyone know that I am working on it!

Potty Project Day #1

So we decided to officially start potty training today. Rassie got up with Scarlett this morning because I was exhausted and in desperate need of even an extra 30 minutes of sleep. Needless to say she didn't get set on the potty first thing this morning. Instead she got a diaper change.

  • 9:00 a.m. - Scarlett got set on the potty. She didn't go but did have a little gas because she wanted to "poo poo". She gets her big girl training panties put on her!
  • 9:20 a.m. - 1st accident of the day! Runs to potty because she needs to "pee pee". We set her on the potty for a few minutes and she's "done". She lays under the dining room table and when she gets up to run off there's a wet spot!

  • 9:40 a.m. - Accident #2 ! 15 minutes was too long to wait in between potty breaks. She actually peed on the dining room floor at 9:25 so I figured we'd give it another shot at 9:40. Well I looked over a few minutes before it was time and the butt of her panties were already wet. So our first pair of panties have been put in the laundry basket.
We have the potty in the living room and we plan on giving her 2 m&m's everytime she goes in the potty until I can get a little prize basket of stickers and such put together. Wish us luck
  • 10:00 a.m. - Sat on the potty, didn't have to go

  • 10:30 a.m. - Sat on the potty, didn't have to go

  • 11:00 a.m. - Sat on the potty, had some gas. Think she was trying to poop. Now she's asking for more to drink so we'll get her hydrated up and see what we get between now and naptime! No more accidentes so far.

  • 11:15 a.m. - Accident #3 !!!! This one, I have no idea when she peed, seriously. I picked her up and she was dry to the bone. Handed her off to Rassie and she was still dry. He sat her down on the couch and her bottom was wet. Some from Rassie's hip to the couch she managed to pee.

  • 12:00 p.m. - Sat on the potty, didn't go. Went down for a nap with a diaper on.

  • 2:00 p.m. - up from nap. Diaper is DRY! Sat on the potty on and off until 2:30 but has not gone potty yet. She is wearing only a t-shirt that way she can go sit on the potty whenever she wants instead of us constantly asking her every 20-30 minutes and overwhelming her. We'll see how it goes this way.

  • 3:15 p.m. - Accident #3. After running around with only a t-shirt we were forced to put panties back on her because we had company. Several times she had ran to her potty but never went. As soon as the panties were back on, the pee flowed!

  • 4:00 p.m. - Scarlett has been on and off the potty as she asks. But this time she pooted and grabbed her tummy telling us she needed to poop. We sat her on the potty but nothing. After about 10 minutes of playing we put her panties back on.

  • 4:30 p.m. - Accidnet #4. This time Scarlett ran to the potty and sat on the lid! She peed in her panties because by the time she yelled "pee pee" she had already gone! We're getting closer. Even though she went in her panties she was sitting on the potty.

Not giving up hope just yet. It's only day #1. We did make it through an entire naptime with a dry diaper so that is a total plus. And we've almost made it through an entire day with no diapers (but many accidents!). The only frustrating part has been when you take her off the potty she says "pee" and wants back on and when you put her on she says "done" and wants off. It's really hard to stay calm and not get irritated with her when she plays this game. But it will be totally worth it if she starts using the potty! Oh, and we have yet to have a poop today so I'm trying to prepare for that!

I will update this post throughout the day on our progress.
