25 weeks!

I can NOT believe that I am 25 weeks pregnant already. Only 15 more weeks to go. Compared to 40 weeks it seems very minimal. But I know I still have quite a while before Ian arrives! Thats right, our baby boy has a name: Ian Rassie, after his daddy! Ian is quite the wiggle worm. He likes to move mostly at night time when I am still. I am lucky enough to say that he does not keep me awake at night. I am sure my time is coming though. Here's is my 25 week picture!

Scarlett turns 15 months!

So yesterday, 4-22-09, Scarlett hit her 15 month milestone. I can not believe my baby girl is already 1 year and 3 months old. She is the most amazing person in my life (including my hubby).

Scarlett is doing awesome. She's walking, running, climbing, talking. She is just an overall smart little girl. She surprises me every single day. One day she'll utter short phrases like "here go mom" for 'here you go mom'. And other days she will do things like take ME to the potty. I asked Rassie to watch her so 'mommy could go potty'. Scarlett came and took my hand. she led me to the bathroom. Pointed for me to open the door and said "here go" . I was so amazed. She knows where to go if you need to potty! Now only if she knew to take herself there. Ha ha! We're introducing the potty but it will probably be a while before she's fully potty trained.

Today she had her 15 month well baby appointment. She did very well. I am so proud of her. Scarlett's soft sport is fully closed now, which her pedi said was good. She is 22.6 lbs and 31.5 inches tall. She has only gained 1 pound in 3 months so on the chart she dropped a little but she is perfectly healthy. She eats like a little piggy but she works all those calories off. Scarlett is a very active tot. And she only takes 1 nap a day that only lasts about 1 hour!

She had a little bit of a temper today. I am thinking she was a bit grumpy because of the shots. She never ran any fever but boy oh boy if she didn't get her way she was upset! She went to bed about 15 minutes earlier than usual and now she's out like a light.

Scarlett also got to try on her new swimsuit today. We have had it for a little bit but today was the first time to try it on. She was such a little cutie patootie in it. BUT, I couldn't get her to stand up and show off for the camera and she didn't want to give up that paci! (I'm telling you, the shots made her a grouch!)

Glucose Testing.

Although not quite between 26 and 28 weeks. I went in for my 1 hour glucose test this morning. My doctor had recommended I go around April 27th but before my next appointment on April 29th. Since I have a huge fear of needles and Rassie left today for school I thought it was now or never. Rassie is such a great strength for me when I need him.

I didn't want to rush myself this morning and stress because that can cause your veins to shrink up and become harder to find. I didn't need any of that happening. Rassie got up with Scarlett about 8:20. He fed her breakfast and got her dressed. Then around 8:50 he brought her in our room to wake me up. It melts my heart everytime she runs giggling into our room and jumps up into my arms.

I went ahead and got up out of bed. Did the whole bathroom, teeth, hair routine. Found some clothes to put on and headed to the kitchen. I know they say you don't have to fast for the 1 hour glucose test but I do NOT want to have to go in and take the 3 hour test. I didn't fast though. I had 2 slices of bacon and a few crackers. Along with a bottle of water. Once again, dehydration can make it harder to find a vein also. So I wanted to be sure I did everything I could to make things go smoothly.

We left the house and made it to the King's Daughters lab around 9:30. They finally got my nice little drink ready and I downed it in less than a minute. I didn't want to sip around on it for the 5 minute time allowance. They told my my blood draw would be aat 10:40. So we headed to the bank to deposit some money and then to Sam's to top of the car on gas. We got back to the clinic about 10:20. I had lots of time to kill.

I went to the bathroom. Looked through some magazines with Scarlett. Talked with Rassie. Everything to keep my mind occupied. At 10:30 I went and checked back in to let them know I was there. I requested Jeanie to draw my blood. She is such a wonderful lady!

Jeanie called me back. Got everything set up and immediately found a vein. Woo hoo! Nothing had caused them to shrivel and hide today. I think the entire draw took less than 30 seconds. She really did an awesome job.

Along with the glucose test they are supposed to check my iron count again. It was low at the first set of lab work. If it is still low I will more than likely be put on an iron supplement. I really think this is what will happen. My babies seem to take all my blood while I'm pregnant. The same thing happened with Scarlett. She was my little vampire baby.

I am doubtful that they will call and tell me the results of my labs so I have to wait until next Wednesday to find out the results. Wish me luck!

1 week :(

So here in 1 week Rassie leaves for a whole month to go to School down in San Antonio. Scarlett and I had hoped to visit and stay with him in the hotel for a few days but no such luck. The rules for the class state that he can have no visitors in his room except for other students whom he might be studying with and even then they have to leave the door open. I guess they want absolutely NO distractions. I know I am going to miss him like crazy. Geez! It's hard enough spending 7 nights straight in an empty bed. What am I going to do for an entire month?!? I am hoping he gets to come home on weekends. He is supposed to be checking into that.

Oh, I guess I should say what kind of school he'll be going to huh? Well, since the oil field has froze up and no one and I mean NO ONE is hiring. He was offered a job with Swift. Its a truck driving company. They offer a 23 day class. You pay $150 up front and the rest is taken out of your paychecks. So your tuition is reimbursed. Unless you find another job and then you owe them the tuition.

This is the best luck we have had in our job search so far. And that's saying a lot because Rassie has been out of work since the end of January. All I can do is thank God everyday for what he has given us and accept the challenge ahead with open arms. I know that God is watching over my family and will not give us anything more than what we can handle. Times may get hard but at least we will have each other, our love, our home and food to put on the table.

I am sad that Rassie will have to be gone for so long but I know that its whats best for us right now. Pray that everything works out.

My Little Stinker

I had a prenatal appt. this morning. I am almost 22 weeks. Well he was such a stinker for the doctor. He would not hold still long enough to get his heart beat. He would keep kicking the doppler so we had to break out the ultra sound machine. He would still not hold still long enough to measure the heart rate but we did see his heart and it was beating fine. He was such a little wiggle worm. All he wanted to do was kick and turn flips. It was too cute.
We also found out we have to go back in May for another measurements u/s. Because at the one BIG u/s our lil man's head was down in my pelvic bones and the tech could not get measurements. Everything else looked fine. Everything they did get measured said he was right on schedule where he would be. We didn't get his weight but I am assuming thats because they did not have a head measurement to calculate in.. Not sure.
Anyways, Our baby boy is doing good.
