WOW

First off, I am really sorry! I have not kept up with this in at least a few weeks. For some reason I've just been putting off blogspot. I haven't even been following the blogs I usually do. There's so much to update on but I will make it short and sweet.

Baby Boy is doing great. Growing good and is expected to be 8 1/2 lbs this week. I go in Thursday night to get cervadil and then Friday morning I am being hooked up to pitocin and induced. I am really looking forward to holding my baby boy in my arms. I think Scarlett is going to be really excited to meet her brother too!

Rassie did a phone interview with the job he's been following. They said it could take up to a week and a half to hear back on whether or not they're going to hire him. The lady said he should be expecting a call from her! That has my hopes up but so far its been a week and no word.

I've been stressing a little over money issues. Rassie's "now" job is not the greatest and just not cutting it. We're trying to come up with a plan for both of us to work and still manage cheap daycare. Because lets face it, daycare for one is expensive enough! For two is just outrageous.

Scarlett went pee pee on the potty for the first time the other night. Rassie and I are both extremely proud of her. She is still having comfort issues and waiting until the diaper is back on before she pees or poops for the most part. But the one break through was awesome! I can't wait to really start working with her. I decided to put it off until after the baby was here because I didn't want her to regress. So for now we put her on the potty when she grabs herself and runs to the bathroom. She usually sits there, wipes and then wants the diaper back on. We tell her good job and encourage her to use the potty but if she doesn't go in the potty we don't get upset.

Ok, I think thats about it for now. I will try to keep up with this! Hopefully it doesn't take me 2 weeks to play catch up again!

Will the Cleaning Ever End?

I feel like I am non stop cleaning. I really want to get things in order before the new baby comes along. It's just not happening.

I wake up every morning and start the day spending about an hour feeding and playing with Scarlett. I wash up the dishes and try to clean up and wipe down the counters. I straighten up the living room and pick up the toys in hopes of vacuuming. But by the time I get the toys in the living room picked up the dining room is once again full. By then I try and take Scar outside for a little bit, play a little more and naptime. During naptime I do not vacuum because she only sleeps about an hour as it is. I just don't want to chance it. I do get all the toys picked up during nap but when she gets up its time for lunch, more mommy/baby time and once again we try to go outside for a little bit. And the afternoons/evenings I try to get the laundry out of the way.

I really could use a better schedule, but having no one to help watch Scarlett I just can't seem to get it all straightened out.

The bathrooms are a little tough to get to. The bathtub stays pretty clean though. I spray it down with the comet spray gel or is it soft scrub. I can't remember, must be pregnancy brain. Let it sit for a few minutes and rinse. I usually do this right before bathtime which makes it super easy. The toilets and floors are another story altogether. I used to clean the bathrooms every weekend. It didn't take much because it was basically maintaining what was already clean. Spray down the counters, bleach the toilets, mop the floors and spray down the bathtubs. I could have sworn it took 10 minutes or less. So why is it so hard to get to these days?

Maybe its not the cleaning at all. Maybe I'm just tired and have no momentum. I know that after I stand for so long my back is killing me and my feet are swollen so all I want to do is sit in the floor with Scarlett and play. It's my way of relaxing.

If I could just take one day, all to myself, to get the house thoroughly cleaned I think I would be able to keep in maintained. It was never this hard before.

Sleepness Nights

And they're not due to pregnancy!

Why is it, that when Rassie's home and I feel all safe and secure when I snuggle into my bed at night, I get less sleep?

I love when Rassie is home. I love having him in bed next to me at night. I love that feeling of security I get when I crawl into bed and close my eyes to sleep. I fall asleep so easily and that's a great feeling! So you would think I would get better sleep with him here. Nope! Not happening.

First, his snoring is awful. I am always waking up in the middle of the night to the sound of a freight train in my bed! I nudge him and his stops for a while, I'm able to go back to sleep. But he rolls to this side and that side and front to back. And depending on which position he's in, the snoring gets worse. I am always waking him telling him to roll over and stop snoring! Not like he can actually help it.

Then, the past 2 nights he has been quite the mover. I have to sleep with a pillow in between us as it is. I thought that would stop him from rolling over on me. He would hit the pillow and that's as far as he would go. Boy was I wrong! He just keeps on coming. I have to sleep with my back to him now. I have been kneed in the back a few times and then he extends his legs and kicks me. Not to mention last night he rolled over and I woke up with an elbow to the face. Guess I should not have chanced facing him. I shoved his arm so hard it woke him up. I didn't mean to but it was my first reaction being woken out of sleep like that. He wanted to know what my problem was? He didn't do anything and was already on the edge of the bed. While he was actually in the middle!

We have a king size bed, we should not be having these problems! He has never moved like this in his sleep before. He's always moved around some but putting a pillow between us used to do the trick. Not anymore.

Not to mention waking up in the middle of the night freezing. For the most part I stay pretty comfortable. Being pregnant I've managed to keep warm without the covers. But when the air kicks on and the fan blows the cold breeze down I get a chill. I just want to snuggle in the covers but all with all of Rassie's moving the blankets get lodged under him. I push and pull and fight to get even the slightest bit of sheet. I usually have to wake him up and make him move.

And get this. In the mornings when its all is done and over he doesn't remember a thing. Doesn't remember being woke up because he snored to loud or because he elbowed me in the face. Doesn't remember wrestling me for the covers or any of it. He is well rested and ready to go!

Why is that men can sleep so easily and actually get some rest! I just want one night with that since of security and comfort where I can sleep peaceful without any type of interruptions!

4th of July

My 4 of July turned out great! Rassie got to come home for the night (and today!!!). Scarlett and I hung around the house until Rassie got home. Then we all got ready for the BBQ and fireworks at my uncles house.

Scarlett enjoyed playing with all the boys, the dog, basketball and everyone in general. She even helped the men cheat at washers by making sure to pick them up and put them through the hole. It was pretty hot outside but I managed to keep her hydrated and she cooled off by dumping grandma's water on herself and saying "mmmm". Cute, Cute! She didn't eat as well as I would have liked but she managed to get 3 tomato slices down and some grape salad. I guess it wasn't too bad.

The funniest part of the night! There was water on the sidewalk. Scarlett saw the dog get a drink so she leaned over and took a drink with her tongue as well. So gross but very entertaining. That's my baby girl for ya!

Finally, it was dark and we could shoot off fireworks. Everyone moved their chairs to the end of the driveway and yard. The whole block gathered around the culdesac and had their fireworks ready. Rassie had a huge box of artillery shells that he got extremely cheap from his aunt. He was the biggest kid out there. His fireworks made for an awesome display and the neighbors and everyone cheered!

Most of the fireworks were kid friendly but the kids weren't so friendly with them. Rassie was not happy about that. He got hit with a zinger and a bottle rocket because the kids were not careful. Those kids got in trouble by their parents though. There was one almost BIG mishap! One of the parents were letting their kids do artillery shells and they put the shell into the wrong tube. BIG MISTAKE! The tube fell over. The tube shot right us. It went between my moms legs and she was holding Scarlett and a piece of it got me. Thankfully, it was just the tube! The actual firework shot straight at a house. There was no damage and those neighbors happened to be gone. It could have been alot worse!

Scarlett stayed up as late as she could. She really enjoyed herself. Grandma helped her do sparklers and then she just laid in her lap looking up at the fireworks saying "ooooooh". By 11 she finally passed out and by midnight we made it home.

On the way home we saw a fire on the other side of our neighborhood. It was in the trees and brush and didn't look like any houses had caught fire. It was a pretty big fire and I am assuming it was caused by fireworks being shot off in town, which happens to be illegal. I haven't checked the news today but plan on doing so.

After being up so late last night, Scarlett only slept in until 8 but she played in her bed until 8:45 which was pretty nice. She's out for a nap now and I figure it will probably be a long one. Rassie managed to get today off also so when Scarlett wakes up we're going to the splash pad. We've already made it grocery shopping. That made for a nice trip considering miss fussy pants was ready for a nap early! So we grabbed some grapes and let her eat on them as we shopped. I know we should wash them first but they did the job!

I can't believe the weekend is almost over. It has really flown by. I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July! God Bless!!!

Project Potty Update

I failed! Not really, it just has not gone as planned. Rassie was home Monday and that threw me off. He wanted to go places so I couldn't leave Scarlett with just panties since it was the 1st day of training. Well, I haven't gone to no diaper yet! I've let her run naked a few times but thats it.

The good news! She is really starting to show signs that she is ready. Woo hoo! All day yesterday she would grab her area and kind of whine. When you sit her on the potty she won't go! She needs her diaper for comfort. This is why we are going to get rid of them and go straight to panties. Also, she took her diaper off 3 times by herself after she had peed. She's definitely ready!

Now I just have to make myself stick to the orignial plan. I should have today but was supposed to take the car to the shop. Which I did not because I feel like complete crap and just don't want to deal with it. I am going to ask them to move it to Monday and that way I can take my older brother with me to help move the carseat and stuff around. So maybe, I can get the ball rolling 1st thing tomorrow and we'll go through the weekend!

I am so excited about potty training just haven't had any momentum. What helps you get going?

Getting Stressed

Of course today is the first of the month! At first I was excited. It's July! The baby is due the beginning of August. It's so close, not much time left. And then my husband called to see if his check went direct deposit. I really try not to look at the bank account unless I absolutely have to. Well I had to.

Honestly, it doesn't look bad. That is until you subtract the amount for the house payment and student loan. Then there's basically nothing left and bills to be paid.

I am very thankful we have made it all the way to July without having any late bills. God has really been on our side. We should not have made it through May! And here we are starting July. I am able to make the house payment but so stressed about other bills. The cars, the utilities. *deep breath* I just have no idea what we're going to do.

I pray every day. I thank God for the job He has Blessed Rassie with. And at the same time I ask Him to bring me hope and good news on the job we're waiting to hear back from. Honestly, I got my hopes up with the oil field job. I tried not to get excited and then I did. And now things are not looking so good. Rassie called back yesterday like they told him to. His application is still under review! They review applications Mon-Wed and call backs on Thursday and Fridays. So we're waiting for the second Thursday to roll around now. The good news: it's under review. The bad news: we should have heard something by now, its taking too long. All this waiting is stressing me out even more.

We had finally got everything on track. Life was good. Rassie was building his credit back up and it was looking good. We traded in his car that was falling apart so we could both have a dependable vehicle. We have our house. Of course we have each other and our sweet baby girl. Life could not have been better. Then the economy started its down fall. Things got worse when election time rolled around and the new president came into office. That's when Rassie's job field went under. He doesn't really have other experience and you can't get that type of paying job without a degree. So basically we're screwed because we took on more than we can now handle. (at the time we could, but not anymore)

Just trying to take a deep breath and make it through the day.
